With the combination of the 2020 influenza season and the COVID-19 pandemic, both patients and pharmacy professionals need to be vigilant about protecting themselves. In this podcast, Drs. Martin Bishop and Lauren Cimino discuss the important role ambulatory care pharmacists will play during the unprecedented 2020 influenza season.

Martin Bishop currently works for The Johns Hopkins Hospital as an ambulatory care pharmacist, practicing in primary care and population health. Hailing from Texas, he completed his PharmD program from the Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy, graduating in 2011. He then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He is board certified in Ambulatory Care by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. He also completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School in 2016, and earned a Green Belt in Lean Sigma for Healthcare in 2018. Martin is a current member of the Section Advisory Group on Medication Management Services.
Lauren Cimino is a current PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Resident at Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Samford University before going on to complete a PGY-1 residency at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She has been a member of the Medication Management Section Advisory Group in the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners for three years. Lauren has interests in primary care, family practice, cardiology, and transitions of care, with hopes of advancing Ambulatory Care in the state of Alabama as a clinician.
