Tom Kraus is Vice President for Government Relations at ASHP. He is a graduate of University of Michigan (BS Biology), Georgetown University Law Center (Doctor Of Law), and The Johns Hopkins University (MHS, Health Policy).
Tom previously served as the Chief of Staff and Associate Commissioner for Legislation at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He was also a senior policy advisor to Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Tom Harkin on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, where he served as Deputy Staff Director for Health.
Nic Pottebaum currently serves as health policy advisor to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, a senior member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. He formerly served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs working with our nation’s governors, lt. governors, and more than 1,500 statewide elected and appointed officials across 55 states and territories. Pottebaum has previously served as health care, tax, and public pension policy advisor to Governor Terry Branstad and Governor Kim Reynolds. Pottebaum is a graduate of the University of Iowa where he served as student body president.
