SPEAKERS
Jamie McConaha, PharmD, NCTTP, BCACP, CDCES is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Duquesne, she completed a two-year academic teaching and research fellowship with the school. During her fellowship, Dr. McConaha pursued her interest in dermatology and cosmeceuticals, which led to the implementation of a new elective course at the university. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. McConaha joined the School of Pharmacy’s clinical faculty. Dr. McConaha continues to teach her dermatology elective, as well as other dermatologic topics within the required curriculum. She has published several peer-reviewed publications in this field. Dr. McConaha maintains a clinical practice in ambulatory care with Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh.
Monica Dougherty, PharmD, BCACP is Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center Specialty Pharmacy in Rochester, New York. She specializes in dermatology, asthma, and allergy. Dr. Dougherty currently manages the treatment and monitoring of more than two hundred patients with atopic dermatitis, many of whom are prescribed newer therapies. Dr. Dougherty earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 Residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at Providence Medical Group, both in Portland, Oregon.
Kristi Hofer, PharmD is Senior Director of Scientific Projects in the Educational Programs Division of the ASHP Office of Professional Development and Publishing. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of review and recertification activities for pharmacy specialty practice areas. Kristi also plans and coordinates a variety of needs-based educational activities for pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, including live meetings, symposia, and webinars, home-study activities, web-based resource centers and toolkits, podcasts, publications, and mentoring initiatives. Kristi has led the development of ASHP’s review programs for several new pharmacy specialties and contributed to ASHP’s recognition by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties as a professional development provider. Kristi received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from South Dakota State University and completed ASHP-accredited residencies in pharmacy practice and drug information. Before joining ASHP, Kristi practiced as a drug information specialist at the University of Virginia Health System.
