Model legislation or model laws provide uniform language which can be disseminated to states to guide policy development and enactment. ASHP’s model legislation provides enabling and standardized language that can be adopted by statehouses across the country to advance laws that authorize pharmacy professionals to have the authority to fully use their education and training and improve patient care as essential members of the interprofessional care team. ASHP develops model legislation in collaboration with state affiliates and practice experts.
